The new two-place, side-by-side Sky Raider Frontier features a 47-inch-wide cabin with a cargo area large enough to be used for sleeping. With its short
takeoff and landing performance, light handling, and
folding-wing design,
this “Sky Raider on
steroids” can be
quick built as an LSA
or as a 1,600-pound
gross experimental as a tri-gear or a
taildragger, capable
of accepting Lycoming or Continental
engines. For more

Air-Cam Upgrades
After assuming control of Air-Cam production, Lock- wood Aircraft has made several developments on the twin-engine
kit-built aircraft. Lockwood engineers and staff
have incorporated an
amphibious float system,
have redesigned engine
mounts to accommodate
turbocharged 115-hp Rotax 914 powerplants, and
have updates for the latest 100-hp 912S engines. Other improvements will include
partial and full enclosures to better shield aft-seat occupants.
In addition to float system work, Air-Cam staffers are developing a new 914 turbo engine package with constant-speed
reverse-pitch props for float-equipped Air-Cams, a new camera mount, and updates of all Air-Cam manuals. Learn more

Spot Welds Gone!
The HTP Spot Mill by HTP America is a tool that removes
spot welds. It has a hardened cobalt steel, bullet-point
drill bit, similar to the kind found in a Bridgeport milling
machine. The depth of cut is set by turning the adjusting
ring, so you can set the tool to cut only through the upper panel. The high torque, low rpm drill motor cuts out
welds quickly, without overheating the drill bit, which
results in long drill life. The Spot Mill comes in a rugged
molded case, has four replacement cutting bits, regulator,
and oiler. Call 800-872-9353 or visit www.USAWeld.com for
more information.
Earn WINGS with Sporty’s
Pilots participating in the FAA WINGS program can ow satisfy program requirements with some of Sporty’s educational programs available on DVD or
as downloads. Three programs are approved: Airspace and
Weather Format Review, Flight Review, and Instrument Proficiency Check. Completion of a phase of the WINGS program
satisfies the requirement for a flight review. After purchasing and viewing one of these Sporty’s programs, the pilot
then completes a brief review and exam by visiting the
Learning Center at www.FAAsafety.gov. Credit will then be
awarded. Learn more at www.Sportys.com/Wings.
