TL-3000 Sirius Is Ready for Buyers
SportairUSA LLC, the North American distributor for the Sting S3, says that its new TL-3000 Sirius light- sport aircraft (LSA) is now available for purchase in
the United States. The Sirius is the high-wing companion to
the low-wing Sting. Both are certificated in the United States
as special light-sport aircraft (S-LSA) and are manufactured
by TL-Ultralight s.r.o. in the Czech Republic. The Sirius, like
the Sting, is a two-passenger, carbon fiber composite, fixed-wing airplane powered by the 100-hp Rotax 912ULS engine
and equipped with a GRS whole-plane ballistic parachute.
The Sirius comes equipped for cross-country flight and will
comply with ASTM standards for instrument flight rules

Tempest Reduces Prices on
Volare Carburetors
Tempest is offering a price rollback on its new, rebuilt, and overhauled carburetor line, Tempest Volare. Af- ter acquiring the MSA carburetor product line from
Precision, Tempest manufacturing and engineering initiated a complete audit of all processes and production tooling and product test equipment. “Because we have lowered our manufacturing costs, we are passing that reduction on to the consumer in the form of a price rollback,”

Inspection AD Issued on
Teledyne Continental Motors
EQ3 Cylinders
Following the discovery of cracks in 35 Teledyne Continental Motors (TCM) EQ3 cylinders, the FAA is requiring initial and repetitive inspections on TCM
engines with EQ3 cylinders. TCM engines affected by the
airworthiness directive (AD) include TCM models O-470,
IO-470, TSIO-470, IO-520, TSIO-520, IO-550, and IOF-
550 series reciprocating engines. The only way to avoid
these inspections is to remove the affected cylinders. The
FAA issued the AD to prevent loss of engine power due to
cracks in the cylinder head, possible engine failure, and
fire in the engine compartment. Read the full text of the
