TSO CERTIFICATION FOR
MODE;S TRANSPONDER
BECKER AVIONICS HAS
ANNOUNCED the tech-
nical standard order
( TSO) certification of
its BXP6403 Mode-S transponder Class I and II
series. ;e BXP6403 is a compact, lightweight, single-block Mode-S transponder that is compatible
with existing Mode A/C systems but provides the
addition of data-link technology. ;e data-link provides flight critical information, such as tra;c,
while reducing the need for additional tra;c detection equipment.
SAVORING A NEW DESIGN
CHRIS CHRISTIANSEN DEBUTED his Savor at the
2009 COPPERSTATE Fly-In. It’s a short-span, cantilevered high-wing with a wide cabin and tandem
seating. It features a welded steel tube fuselage
inside a fiberglass fairing, with a metal wing. It’s
powered by an O-320 engine and has a gross weight
just under 1,600 pounds. Chris is still flight testing
but expects cruise speeds in the 150 mph range
with a 7 gph fuel burn.

TUNED EXHAUST
FOR BONANZAS
POWER FLOW SYSTEMS HAS designed a tuned
exhaust system for the Beech Bonanza and plans
to obtain STCs for the IO-470, IO-520, and IO-550
configurations. Initial flight tests have revealed
that Bonanza owners can expect an increase in
cruise speed by up to 7 knots ( 4 knots are guaranteed). When flying at established cruise speeds,
owners can expect a fuel savings of up to 1. 5 gallons per hour, the company says.

MOVES TO NEW LOCATION
E;GO AEROPLANES HAS MOVED into new premises: the e-Go Centre at Main Hall Farm Airfield
near Conington, Cambridge, United Kingdom. ;e
move will help accelerate the company’s prototype
program, with a target completion of mid-2010 and
production by early 2011. ;e single-seat e-Go uses
forms of carbon fiber, foam, and other advanced
materials to achieve high strength and performance with exceptionally low weight. ;e company
says it will cruise at more than 100 knots for 400
miles and climb at about 1,000 feet per minute.
