I pour over
Sport Aviation.
Meet Bill Near.
He recently completed his dream building project, an RV-7A, with
the help and dedication of his wife and son. Bill also passed on a
tradition to his son that his dad started with him.
“My dad was into airplane building, and was always working on
an airplane when I was growing up. We started going to Oshkosh
when I was in high school, and I joined EAA when I first started
medical school. I enjoy everything that EAA has to offer. They are
the forefront of legislation and innovation.”
Bill gets out once a week to fly and tries to find a fly-in breakfast or
lunch to attend. He also plans to carry on the Oshkosh tradition,
and has Oshkosh 2010 slated for his family’s next big cross-country
trip—but not before he sneaks in Sun ’n Fun.

Why Bill reads EAA Sport Aviation…
“I pour over Sport Aviation. I read the comments about specific
types of devices and the pros and cons. I recently put a GPS and a
glass panel in my plane, and I made those decisions based on what
I saw in Sport Aviation. The more information that’s out there, the
better I can make a decision.”
