THORPEDO LSA TO BE BUILT IN CHINA
INDUS AVIATION, MANUFACTURER of the Thorp T211 aircraft, has
entered into an agreement with the Chinese firm IPI to put the
Thorpedo into large-scale production for the U.S. market and to
meet anticipated demands in Asia.
The Thorpedo will be offered with either the Continental
O-200 or the Jabiru 3300 engine, with consideration given to
offering the WAM 100 diesel as a third option. After setting up
with IPI, initial production is planned to ramp up to 100 units
a year. While much of the anticipated market is in Asia, the
Thorpedo will also be available in the United States through the
company’s Dallas, Texas, facility.

TEMPEST ANNOUNCES NEW STARTER, SPARK
PLUG PRODUCTS
TEMPEST HAS ADDED two new categories to its existing line of products: engine starter motors and spark plugs.
The first of its starter motors is a new FAA/PMA-approved
design eligible for installation on TCM engines. The PowerFlite
starter mounts directly to the engine and is available in both 12- and
24-volt versions.
Meanwhile, the company said it has received FAA/PMA approvals and began shipping its new spark plugs, which are available in
standard massive electrode and premium fine wire designs.

company’s Kestrel
single-engine turboprop aircraft to the U.S.,
with plans to establish
a factory in Brunswick
Landing, Maine.
The Kestrel reportedly sets new standards in cabin dimensions and
comfort for a six/seven-seat aircraft. A range of cabin configurations
