An autogyro wake-up call
GYROPLANE PILOT RON AWAD had a special role at the Bensen Days
Gyroplane Fly-In 2010 at the Wauchula Municipal Airport in
Wauchula, Florida. “Ron was apparently the self-designated
alarm clock for the event, waking up the campgrounds to the
fine music of an experimental autogyro,” photographer Timothy
O’Connor said of the photo, taken at dawn while Ron was landing. Ron owns the two-place tandem Dominator gyroplane,
powered by a Yamaha Genesis engine.
