WOMEN SOAR PROGRAM EXPANDS
WOMEN SOAR YOU SOAR, EAA’s aviation career program for young
women, expands to four days in 2011 and will be held over the final
weekend of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. Entering its seventh year,
Women Soar You Soar is scheduled for Thursday, July 28, through
Sunday, July 31. The expanded Women Soar program is among the
menu of activities that EAA is building to create the next generation
of aviators and grow participation in aviation.
Young women entering grades 9-12 in fall 2011 are invited to
participate and get an introduction to aviation-based careers, as well
as a mentor network that provides encouragement and support to
consider a career in aviation. Activities include flight simulation,

EAA IS LOOKING FOR volunteers to help out with the many tasks and
activities planned at the 37th annual Sun ’n Fun Fly-In at Lakeland,
Florida, March 29-April 3. EAA staff is making preparations to
help usher in the start of the flying season, and there are numerous
opportunities to participate, including:
• Membership and merchandise sales,
• Front gate member assistance,
• Sweepstakes ticket sales,
• Pre-event setup, and
• Teardown on the last day.
workshops, aircraft-building skills, and mentor sessions.
Attendees will also experience a variety of exciting AirVenture
attractions taking place on the final weekend, including WomenVenture,
one of the largest gatherings of women aviators and enthusiasts.
Applications will be accepted through June 30, 2011, and are
available at
www.AirVenture.org/WomenSoar. Cost is $75, which
includes lodging at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, meals,
and admission to EAA AirVenture. Registration scholarships are also
available for those meeting financial need requirements.

March 31, for a special member gathering with EAA President
Rod Hightower, Chairman Tom Poberezny, and Founder Paul
Poberezny. The pavilion is located adjacent to the museum, and
festivities will begin right after the air show.
