has been shown several times at air
shows in Europe; now finally it can
be ordered. The launch price of the
engine is € 10,400. The fuel-injected, four-stroke, four-cylinder
boxer engine develops 80 hp and
weighs 47 kg dry. Ready-to-fly, it
weighs 55 kg. Five engines were

AUTOGYRO CAVALON
AutoGyro GmbH introduced the Cavalon. The side-by-side gyro may be powered by
a Rotax 912S or 914 turbo engine. The company also manufactures the open flight
deck MT-03/MTOsport and the enclosed Calidus, shown with the Cavalon. At
AERO, the company announced delivery of its 1,000th gyro.

Magni Gyro s.r.l. of Italy also reintroduced a two-seat, side-by-side gyro, the Orion
M24, and announced that the machine recently had been approved to BCAR Section
T, the United Kingdom’s Civil Aviation Authority standard for gyroplanes. During
AERO, it also received German certification.

When first presented at AERO 2009, the FD-Composites Arrow Copter was described
as the sexiest gyrocopter on the market because of its sleek and stylish lines. It is one
of the fastest gyros on the market, reaching 191 kmh maximum speed, powered by a
Rotax 912/914 engine. The addition of a half-canopy is new for 2011. Cost is € 100,000,
and the aircraft recently earned provisional German certification. The stylish gyrocopter will be marketed primarily outside Germany.

Rotortec brought three new products to AERO 2011—the largest, the Cloud Dancer
II, is the world’s first side-by-side gyrocopter with a four-blade rotor system that
folds for easy storage. During AERO, its German airworthiness certificate was
approved. This model is powered by a Weber 135-hp two-cylinder turbocharged
engine. It’s priced at € 60,000. Rotortec also displayed the Cloud Dancer Light, a
new single-seat gyro powered by a 70-hp, two-stroke Hirth engine priced at
€ 26,000. It fits in the 120 kg European aircraft class (similar to the FAR Part 103).
Also introduced was the Cloud Dancer I, combining an older airframe with a new,
three-cylinder, 85-hp, two-stroke Hirth. Price is € 39,000.

Trixy Aviation, without a doubt, offered the biggest surprise
in the gyroplane world. No one had any information about
this company and its new gyrocopter G 4-2. It’s been
secretly tested at the company’s base near Frankfurt; the
production will be in a specialized factory in Slovenia. The
price tag of the open or enclosed tandem, powered by Rotax
912S, with two-year total warranty is € 59,800. It already has
