The NTSB recovered both a handheld
GPS navigator and an electronic engine
instrument system from the wreckage.
Analysis of the data stored in the engine
monitor confirmed the report that the
right engine had been shut down for an
extended period in flight.
Data recovered from the GPS unit also
showed that the Baron had deviated from
normal flight. The GPS could not record
airspeed or attitude, of course, but on the
return flight from Lakeland it did record
abrupt changes in altitude and
